Frequently Asked Questions
The Networker is a UK event management and ticketing platform for professional networking events. It helps organisers create polished event listings, sell tickets, promote events, and bring the right people together.
- Event organisers and professional hosts
- Business networking groups and associations
- Entrepreneurs, SMEs, freelancers, and consultants
- Professionals looking for useful business events to attend
Events can be in person at a physical location, virtual through platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams, or part of a mixed event group where the organiser can choose the best format for each event.
Organisers create an event, set the details, and sell tickets through the platform. The aim is to give attendees a simple booking experience while giving organisers a professional way to manage and promote their events.
The Networker earns just 2% of ticket sales. This keeps the platform cost-effective for organisers while supporting the tools needed to run, ticket, and improve professional events.
Yes. Organisers can choose paid promotion to help their events reach more of the right people. Promotion is intended to be cost-effective, especially compared with the time and effort of building an audience from scratch.
Anyone can use Search to discover events. Creating listings, buying paid tickets, saving
favourites, and organiser tools need a free account. If an event is ticketed, you pay the price set by the organiser
(plus any processing charges shown at checkout).
Yes. Free events can be listed and managed too. The 2% platform fee only applies where ticket sales are taken through The Networker.
In-person events need a clear venue and address so attendees know where to go. When you enter a UK postcode,
address lookup can suggest matching lines to speed up entry. City, venue name, and map coordinates help
people plan travel and on-site arrival.
Virtual events should include the online meeting platform, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams, and the joining link or access details for attendees.
An event group is a named home for a brand or series of events. Under My Events,
you manage the group and each dated event. Every event is set to in-person or virtual when you
create or edit it; the group itself can reflect an overall style (for example mixed programmes over time).
A free account lets you complete your profile, save Favourites, book ticketed events, and use
My Events if you organise. Until location and other basics are set, some menu links stay
pointed at Profile so we can show relevant nearby in-person results.
Yes. Profiles can use keywords to describe interests, skills, sectors, and networking goals. This helps the platform make discovery and matching more useful over time.
Yes. Organisers can use AI assistance to polish event or event group descriptions, helping make listings clearer and more appealing before publishing.
The 2% ticket-sales model keeps the cost low while giving organisers a professional event presence, ticketing support, and optional promotion to help attract the right audience.
Use the Contact page in the top menu for the enquiry form and
published contact details.
Open Search from the top menu. Switch between in-person and virtual listings, use sorting
options, and—when your profile location is set—narrow in-person results by distance. Open any card for full
details and booking.
My Events is the organiser workspace: event groups, drafts, live listings, and ticketing setup.
My Tickets is for attendees: events you have booked or registered for, including what you need
to attend or check in where the organiser uses ticket features.
